Annual Check-Up
It is important to have your furnace checked in the fall so that you can ensure that it is operating efficiently, and avoid expensive breakdowns. By having this check done by a heat and air technician, you will also extend the life of your furnace, save energy and increase safety.
Monthly Filter Change
When your furnace is being used regularly, you should make sure to change your filter at least once a month. This will increase air flow, helping you save money and energy.
A Heating Professional will inspect the following:
- Carbon monoxide leaks
- Gas valves operating properly
- Electrical connection issues
- Proper operation of other parts of the furnace which affect safety, energy efficiency, and performance
- Gas leaks
- Soot build-up on burners
- Pilot flame lighting properly
In the case of a blown electrical circuit
Your furnace should always have its own dedicated circuit breaker. If your furnace cause your breaker to flip, or a fuse to blow, you should find an electrician to make sure that it is on its own circuit.
