If you are experiencing problems with your gas furnace, try the solutions below. If this does not fix your problem, call us for professional help.
Vents are blowing cold air, or no air at all:
1) Check your thermostat to make sure that it is set to heat. You should also make sure that it is set to a few degrees below the current temperature in the room.
2) Have you blown a fuse, or has an electrical breaker tripped off? This could cause the furnace to not ignite, or the fan not to run. Try resetting your breaker or replacing the fuse.
3) Check to see if your pilot light is lit. If it is not lit, follow the instructions on your furnace to light it. If your pilot light goes out frequently, there may be a hazardous issue. If this is the case, call us or your gas company immediately for assistance.
Your furnace cycles on and off frequently or does not generate enough heat:
Check to see if you need to be replaced. If it is dirty, then it is time to replace it.
Your furnace blower runs all of the time:
Check your thermostat to see if your fan is set to “on”. If so, it may run continuously. Change your setting to “auto” or “off” to fix this.
Your furnace is making high squeals, low rumbles or other weird noises:
Either way, you should have it looked at by a professional.
We hope that you were able to solve your furnace problems with these steps! If you need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to call us.
